WHAT is a virtual Fix-It Cafe?
An opportunity to repair and revitalize a variety of household items and save them from an untimely demise at the landfill.
A great opportunity to learn about fixing things.
A socially responsible, covid-safe and fun activity.
We will have Fixers with expertise, ready to help guide you in fixing your:
- Kitchen appliances
- Other household items

8:30 - Coffee Hour - log on early if you like and connect with others, learn about the new Vashon Island Time Exchange
9:00 - Zero Waste Vashon update on the State of Waste on our Island and info on ZWV projects that can help you reduce your waste footprint. You won't want to miss this inspiring and lively presentation!
9:30 - intro to the Repair Cafe and Lamp Fixers will go in breakout rooms with folks needing lamps repaired.
10:30 - Small Kitchen Appliance Fixers will go into breakout rooms with folks who need small kitchen appliances repaired.
11:30 - Other Household Fixers will go into breakout rooms with Islanders who need clothing, electronics, etc fixed.
12:30 - Wrap up and debrief and learn how to join the Fix-It Team!
The Vashon Fix-It Café is hosted by the Vashon Island Time Exchange and staffed by members of the Vashon Tool Library, Zero Waste Vashon, and Backbone Campaign, with support from the King County EcoConsumer Program.
